Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts, including corrections needed to achieve accurate bends and dimensions in accordance with drawing specifications
\n\u2022 Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
\n\u2022 Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables to plan machining operations
\n\u2022 Repair machine tools and parts, including performing preventative maintenance, general housekeeping, and determining when repairs or new equipment are needed
\n\u2022 Set up and adjust production machineries\/tools to complete fabrication in accordance with established time standards
\n\u2022 Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
\n\u2022 Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments (e.g., verniers)
\n\u2022 Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, and ensure the identification process for components is followed
\n\u2022 Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports, including \u201cfirst-off\u201d inspections of components against drawings and completion of manufacturing process documentation
\n\u2022 Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometres, calipers)
\n\u2022 Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools, including loading, running, and modifying CNC programs, and programming CNC operations from technical drawings and blueprints
\n\u2022 Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments<\/p>\n
