Academics PreKindergarten Westwood is looking for Early Childhood Educators!
We are Full day childcare centre, licensed for the care of children 10 months to 5 years of age.

Position: Early Childhood Educator

Wage: $21.00 – $23.00/hour(to be negotiated)
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time

Benefit:
-4% vacation renumeration or 10 days of paid vacations
-We provide a group extended health benefits program. Individual plus optional family coverage after the mandatory 3 month probation period. 10 paid sick days per year, reset each January 1st.

Job Duties:
– Build, maintain and promote trusting relationships with children, parents and teammates in a professional manner
– Provide nurturing, empathetic and compassionate care and guidance to all children, using ECE principies and values
– Understand, implement and maintain compliance with BC’s childcare regulations
– Deliver, and adjust as necessary for each individual child, an exciting, engaging, and developmentally appropriate curriculum
– Maintain a functional, clean, engaging and effective classroom
– Work effectively within a classroom hierarchy to deliver the best environment and learning opportunities possible
– Be a genuine, supportive, engaged, and productive team member who is open to and implements feedback and guidance
– Recommend, lead and implement continuous improvement within the role and responsibilities
Job Requirements:
Education
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
Qualification
– Valid ECE Certificate is required
– Maintain a clear CCFL Criminal Record
– Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
– A record of the person’s work history/resume is required
– Previous experience working with children in a child care/recreation setting is an asset
