BA Restaurant Holdings Ltd. is looking for an experienced Executive Chief Steward to join the team.

This position is permanent, full-time; 35 – 37.5 hours per week; $26.44 per hour. Eligible for extended health and dental benefits after passing 3 months of probationary period.

The standard 7-7.5 hour shift for this position could be scheduled between 10 AM and 3 AM as required (scheduled shift times can vary on a weekly basis based on business needs).

– Leading the development and supervision of day-to-day maintenance activities- Event set up and breakdown as needed, assist in any organization and execution of functions or large parties;
– Liaise with the kitchens to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are maintained and exceeded;
– Work closely with all management and departments to ensure that all equipment needs are met and that all equipment is in good, working order;
– Maintain and achieve budget goals with respect to breakage, inventory and preventative maintenance of equipment;
– Ensure the delivery of quality service by motivating staff and exhibiting team spirit- In conjunction with HR, assist with the hiring and development of employees;
– Scheduling employees, editing timesheets in preparation for payroll and ensuring that staff levels are maintained in a cost-effective manner;
– Work closely with the OH & S Committee to ensure safety standards are maintained and all areas are hazard-free. This includes proper food handling procedures, the cleaning and storage of food containers, the use of cleaning chemicals and the timely maintenance of equipment in all the kitchens;
– Organizing and conducting staff meetings and generating appropriate reports;
– Maintain and control inventories as outlined in the budget;
– Track and control all china, flatware, glassware and cutlery inventories;
– Reporting any breakage, malfunctions or discrepancies to the Director of Food and Beverage ;
– Understanding the schedules of temporary stewarding staff, be aware of where they are required to be and if not needed in one outlet move them to assist another or decide that they are ok to be sent home. Insure their hours are properly tracked and reported;
– Working with the leadership teams of each outlet and company at Parq Vancouver, you represent BA Restaurant Holdings at all times and are expected to assist in driving profitability for the company as well as working professionally to solve problems and contribute to a successful guest experience;
– Other related duties as required.

– Must have completion of a college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or a related field;
– Must have at least 2 years of experience supervising/managing in a high-volume environment;
– Solid leadership skills and experience recruiting, training and managing staff;
– An entrepreneurial, intuitive and creative spirit with the ability to independently handle projects from start to finish;
– Must be computer savvy including knowledge of Microsoft Office and have solid typing and data entry skills;
– Exceptional organization and communications skills;
– Administrative experience including payroll, scheduling and employee documentation;
– FOODSAFE Level 1 required, Level 2 considered an asset;- Serving it Right certification required; – Able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and stoop repeatedly;- Able to frequently lift and carry up to 24 kg/50lb
– Flexible schedule including the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended shifts;
– English language ability is required.
