As a Mixing Operator (Cook) you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and quality of our food products.

Job Title: Mixing Operator- Cook

Terms of Employment:   Full-time, permanent, minimum 40 hours per week

Language: English

Compensation: $22.05 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand the production schedule, and cook sauces accordingly within the given time-frame
  • Collect the prepared batches and pre-prep ingredients to the line and stage them accordingly near kettles to cook the batch (dressings, marinades, and different kind of sauces)
  • Orient the entire line cooking team on the production schedule for the day and provide reminders on cleanliness, food handling, and adhering to all standards and guidelines
  • Assess the state of readiness of the expediting station
  • Check the cleanliness of kettles, holding tanks and entire assembly area
  • Ensure proper sanitation using appropriate chemicals designated for different allergens used on the line
  • Carry out training of new kitchen recruits
  • Comply with health, sanitation, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and other functions as required
  • Complete all paperwork involved to day-to-day operation
  • Report all equipment problems, maintenance issues, violations or substandard practices to supervisor immediately upon encountering a problem
  • Assume full responsibility for quality of products cooked

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Work Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing environment

Experience in working with a RFID scanner

Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Continuous standing for duration of shift

Bending, pulling and pushing required

Ability to work with temperature extremes and food odours

Ability to manually handle food allergens

Food manufacturing experience an asset

Ability to complete manual checklists and follow recipe specifications
