Job Duties:
1. Engage children in diverse educational activities such as storytelling, educational play, media etc.
2.Organize physical and social environment to extend and expand children’s play experience
3. Arrange rooms and furniture for lunch and rest periods, assist with maintaining children centre’s equipment, housekeeping and cooking as well as prepare snacks
4. Communicate with the principal and teachers, attend parent events and staff meetings, report on children’s development and challenges through written observations
5. Assist early childhood educator in implementing initiatives that enhance the growth and progress of children in their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social domains
6. Set up daily routines to create embedded learning opportunities, encourage students to carry out daily routines
7. Document children’s activities-display, record students’ developmental achievements
8. Provide support and direction to children as they learn and cultivate appropriate routines for eating, dressing, and using the restroom
9. Participate in short- and long-term planning and the annual program review
10. Help all parents participate in their child’s education through open, effective and consistent communication channels
Job Requirements:
1.Early childhood educator assistant certificate
2.Completion of secondary school is required
3.English language fluency
4.Experience is an asset
