Glowbal Restaurant Group  is looking to fill the below positions at Black + Blue Toronto (0894546 BC Ltd) @ 130 King Street, Toronto, ON M5X 1J5

CHEF DE CUISINE – 2 positions available
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
·         Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities ensuring all meets the highest quality standards
·         Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
·         Assist the Exec Chef with designing menus and plating presentation
·         Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
·         Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
·         Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
·         Hire and train staff
·         May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.

BENEFITS:
·         $80,000 annual salary
·         40-50 hours per week

PASTRY CHEF – 1 position 
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
·         Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities ensuring all meets the highest quality standards
·         Design menus and plating presentation
·         Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
·         Supervise activities of your team
·         Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
·         Hire and train staff
·         May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.

BENEFITS:
·         $70,00-75,000 annual salary pending experience
·         40-50 hours per week

SOUS CHEF – 2 positions available
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
·         Assist Exec Chef & CDC to plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities ensuring all meets the highest quality standards
·         Assist the Exec Chef with designing menus and plating presentation
·         Assist Exec Chef & CDC to estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
·         Supervise activities of cooks & dishwashers
·         Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
·         Train staff
·         May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.

BENEFITS:
·         $65,000 annual salary
·         40-50 hours per week
·         Extended Health, Dental and Life Insurance after 3 months
·         Laundry cleaning and phone allowances

SENIOR CHEF DE PARTIE – 2 positions available at each location
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
·         Assist Chefs to plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities ensuring all meets the highest quality standards
·         Assist the Chefs with designing menus and plating presentation
·         Assist Chefs to estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
·         Supervise activities of cooks & dishwashers
·         Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
·         Train staff
·         May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.

·         $55,000 annual salary
·         40-50 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS:
·         Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar position
·         In-depth knowledge of food principles & best practices
·         Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
·         Ability to communicate in English
·         Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
·         Food Safe or Safe Food Handling within 2 weeks of employment
