Private household in Vancouver, BC (Olympic Village neighborhood)
Note: This is not a live-in position.

Job Type:
Full-time, 30 hours per week

Start Date:
Around June 1, 2025

Job Duties:

Supervise and care for a 2-year-old child in employer’s home
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
Assist with daily routines including dressing, napping, and hygiene
Engage in developmentally appropriate activities (reading, music, play, walks)
Maintain a safe and healthy home environment
Perform light housekeeping duties related to the child (e.g., cleaning toys, laundry)
Accompany child to appointments or outdoor activities as needed
Follow parenting routines and provide warm, attentive care
Job Requirements:

Education:

Completion of secondary school is required
Early childhood education or caregiver training is an asset

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of full-time child care experience or related experience such as teaching in preschool or kindergarten within the last 3 years
Experience teaching the piano is an asset

Language:

English (speaking, reading, and understanding instructions)
Portuguese is an asset/preferred (our baby has been learning to speak Portuguese for 10 months)

Other Requirements:

Criminal record check may be required
References required
First Aid Certificate
CPR Certificate

Work Setting:

Private household

Wages & Benefits:

Hourly wage: $20
Vacation pay: 4% of gross wages
Overtime: 1.5x pay after 40 hours/week (if applicable)
