Permanent, Full-time Position: 40 hours/week

Joia Ristorante opened in 1997 and has established itself as a premiere fine dining Italian restaurant and wine bar in Aurora, Ontario. Owners, Marco and Eugenio offer only the finest in house made Italian ingredients. Marco and Eugenio travel to Italy frequently in order to enhance their menu with authentic Italian cuisine.

We are looking for a cook to join our team! We are looking for a cook who is passionate about food, has a deep understanding of ingredients, and is eager to learn more about the world of cooking. Ideal candidate will work well with others and have a positive attitude towards their work.

The responsibilities of this position include:

• Prepare and cook dishes as instructed by chef
• Train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Manage inventory and records of food, supplies and kitchen equipment
• Maintain clean kitchen and work area
• Uphold restaurant cleanliness requirements as to meet food safety standards
• Work with chef to plan menus, estimate food costs, and monitor and order supplies

Requirement:

• Secondary – High school diploma or equivalent experience
• 3 years experience as cook
