Overview

Kingyo Food Corp. (dba Tsuchi Café and Kingyo Fisherman’s Market) is seeking a Pastry Chef to join the team.

 

Permanent, full-time; $34.07 per hour; 30-44 hours per week. Bonus available depending on sales performance.
Standard 6-8.8 hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 6:00am and 12:00am as required.

Duties:
– Prepare ingredients;
– Prepare pastries and other baked goods;

– Create new and exciting dessert and pastry menu items;

– Recruit new staff;

– Provide training to new hires;

– Inspect kitchen and food service areas for cleanliness;

– Supervise pastry assistants and other kitchen staff;

– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.

 

Requirements:
– Minimum 5 years of previous experience in commercial pastry production is required;

– Diploma from a College or a Technical School in a Culinary field is required;

– Previous experience in Japanese pastry is an asset;
– English language ability is required;

– Japanese language ability is an asset.
