We are looking for an accounting clerk who will be responsible for accounting and related clerical matters. These include a variety of duties: processing of invoices, preparation of cheques, accounts payable and receivable and basic bookkeeping using accounting software.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Code and process payment requests, vendor invoices etc.
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records
  • Perform various reconciliations including bank statements, accounts receivable and accounts payable, cheques, invoices and purchase orders.
  • Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Assist in preparing monthly/yearly closings
  • Compile budget data and documents based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets
  • Calculate costs of materials, overhead and other expenses based on estimates, quotations, and price lists
  • Resolve discrepancies that may occur during verification process by maintaining contacts with suppliers and internal departments
  • Provide other clerical support necessary such as maintaining filing and record systems, as well as faxing and photocopying.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience as accounting clerk or in similar capacity
  • Accounting, commerce or Finance degree or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to be organized with a strong eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, with a positive attitude
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Other related applications.
