Duties and Responsibilities
-Create innovative and functional landscape designs for residential and mixed-use developments, incorporating sustainable and aesthetically pleasing elements that align with Luso’s architectural vision
-Research and recommend suitable plants, trees, and hardscape materials to ensure durability, low maintenance, and sustainability in various environmental conditions
-Work closely with Luso’s architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate landscape elements into overall site plans and development projects
-Visit project sites to analyze soil conditions, drainage systems, and environmental factors to develop effective landscaping solutions that enhance outdoor living spaces
-Ensure that all landscape designs adhere to municipal zoning laws, environmental regulations, and sustainability guidelines in British Columbia and Alberta
-Utilize software such as Adobe Creative to generate conceptual drawings, 3D models, and visual presentations for clients
-Help monitor landscape installation to ensure proper execution according to design specifications, addressing any challenges or modifications as needed
-Incorporate environmentally friendly landscape solutions, such as native plant selection, and green roofs, to enhance energy efficiency and reduce ecological impact
-Engage with homeowners, developers, and municipal authorities to present design concepts, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction with the final landscape product
Qualifications
-A diploma or above in landscape design or a related field is required
-A minimum of two years of relevant experience is strongly preferred
-Ability to think outside the box and develop unique, visually striking landscape designs that seamlessly blend functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability
-Strong passion for landscape architecture with a keen eye for detail, ensuring every project meets high standards of creativity and precision
-Highly self-motivated and dedicated to delivering exceptional results, willing to put in extra effort to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations
