Overview

Masayoshi Restaurant is seeking a Sushi Chef to join our team.

 

Permanent, full-time; 40 hours per week; $5,001 per month. Bonus available based on sales performance.

 

Standard 8-hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 2pm and 12am as required.

 

Duties:

– Prepare sushi dishes, such as nigiri and rolls, and everything on the menu;

– Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards;

– Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness;

– Maintain the inventory of ingredients and foodstuffs;

– Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi dishes;

– Recruit and hire staff;

– Provide training to new kitchen staff on matters of hygiene, Japanese sushi preparation techniques, and other matters.

 

Qualifications:

– Minimum 5 years of previous experience as a commercial cook;

– English language ability is required;

– Japanese language ability is an asset.
