Naramata Inn is looking for a qualified Sous Chef.

 

Job Description:

– Employer: Naramata Hospitality Limited Partnership / Naramata Inn

– Title: Sous Chef

–  Wage: $28.85 per Hour

– Number of work hours: 30 to 40 hours per week

– Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

– Benefit: 6% of gross salary for vacation remuneration and extended medical insurance, dental, and prescription drugs (provide health spending account with a prorated yearly balance of $2,500).

Job Duties:

ž   Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff activities such as food preparation and food quality.

ž   Work with sous schef team to ensure operation is running smoothly.

ž   Prepare and cook complete meals, such as appetizer, entrée, dessert on the lunch and dinner menu.

ž   Operate, maintain, and properly clean the kitchen and all kitchen equipment.

ž   Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards.

ž   Demonstrate and instruct cooks in cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food and dishes on the menu.

ž   Establish and develop new cooking technique and demonstrate to kitchen staff.

 

Job Requirements:

-Completion of secondary school is required.

-Minimum 3-4 years of experience in commercial food preparation, including two-years in a supervisory capacity and experience as a sous chef, specialist chef or chef is required, OR

Cook’s trade certification or equivalent credentials, training and experience are required.
