Job Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory

·       Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff

·       Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food

·       Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff,

·       Prepare and cook food on a regular basis

·       Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods

·       Requisition food and kitchen supplies

·       Manage inventory of spices and ingredients.

·       Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including but not limited to tables, shelves, counters, grills, fryers, burners, ovens, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.

·       Ensure food meets quality standards

·       Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances

·       Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

·       Work with and supervise line-cooks in preparing, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.

·       Prepare new menu items based on brand requirements and their recipes.

·       Demonstrate excellent food preparation practices, portion control & end to end food production.

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

·       Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required

·       1 year experience as a chef is considered an asset

·       Chopping, preparing, and cooking food

·       Degree in diverse type of food preparation, food handling, environment safety and cooking is considered an asset.

·       Must be available on weekdays, weekends, and public holidays

·       Excellent time management skills

·       Personable and friendly attitude

·       Must be able to work well under pressure and in a team environment
