Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Service Aide to join our healthcare team. This is not standard role but have been specifically created in response to the urgent and unpredictable care needs we face across lower mainland. This is a Pilot Staffing designed to ensure we always have highly experienced personnel available to provide immediate, flexible coverage.
Duties
- Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
- Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment
- Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
- Perform other duties related to personal care
- Supply and empty bed pans
- Serve meal trays and feed patients
- Weigh, lift, turn and position patients
- Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
- Supervise patients’ exercise routines
- Maintain inventory of supplies
- Bathe, dress and groom patients
- Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
Critical Response: Primary responsibility is to serve as emergency replacements when clients suddenly require care-such as after a fall, a missed medication, unstable blood sugar, or hospital discharges. These urgent situations require immediate support, sometimes within 1 hour, to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable senior.
Requirements
– Min 2 years experience
– Min secondary school diploma plus having related certificates or diplomas are considered as an asset.
– Flexibility: Employee must be available on short notice to respond to last minute emergency calls at any time of day or night. You are unable to commit to a regular five day job work schedule or accept employment elsewhere due to the nature of this position.
Diverse and Demanding Assignments: Staff may be scheduled to provide care in multiple cities in a single day, often with only a few hours notice.
