Position: Marketing and Communications Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to develop and implement strategic partnership marketing initiatives for our digital marketing agency.

This professional will be responsible for analyzing marketing opportunities, developing communication strategies, and maintaining business relationships with various stakeholders including marketing agencies, creative firms, and business consultants.

Responsibilities

·       Analyze and develop communication and promotion strategies aligned with business objectives

·       Assess characteristics of services to determine marketing and advertising needs

·       Advise clients and partners on marketing and promotional strategies

·       Develop and implement direct marketing campaigns

·       Prepare and oversee preparation of marketing materials, presentations, and communications content

·       Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and industry partners

·       Coordinate marketing events and promotional programs for internal and external audiences

·       Manage post-campaign analysis and report on marketing metrics

·       Develop and maintain social media presence and digital marketing initiatives

Duties:

Strategic Planning & Development

Develop communication and media strategies
Develop and implement business plans and strategic sales plans to achieve objectives and revenue targets
Assess business opportunities and develop strategies
Prepare marketing plans and establish marketing programs
Identify potential markets and new partner business opportunities for expansion
Develop partnerships for marketing campaigns
Provide consultation on planning and starting new businesses
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies
Marketing & Promotional Activities

Plan, direct, and evaluate advertising and marketing campaigns and initiatives
Develop promotional materials and portfolio of marketing materials
Implement marketing activities and promotional programs
Conduct online marketing, e-commerce, and website promotions
Advertise promotional programs
Conduct analytical marketing studies and comparative research on marketing strategies
Develop public relations and promotional programs
Collaborate with creative teams to develop impactful marketing campaigns
Identify opportunities for joint campaigns, co-marketing efforts, and case studies
Content Creation & Management

Write and edit advertising copy
Write and edit press releases, newsletters, and communications materials
Prepare written material such as reports, briefs, and website content
Oversee the preparation of public written material and website content
Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters, and other materials
Gather, research, and prepare communications material
Event Management & Networking

Develop events for publicity, fundraising, and information purposes
Publicize activities, workshops, meetings, and other events
Coordinate special publicity events and promotions
Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships and promote the organization
Client & Partnership Relations

Advise clients on advertising or sales promotion strategies
Identify and solicit potential clients
Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
Deliver sales presentations
Prepare proposals
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners
Negotiate and close business deals to generate revenue
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners
Evaluation & Analysis

Evaluate communication strategies and programs
Monitor and evaluate marketing and communication strategies
Conduct program evaluations
Evaluate customer service
Monitor and analyze partner sales and marketing performance metrics
Prepare regular reports on KPIs and provide insights for improvement
Utilize data-driven insights to refine strategies and tactics
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes
Team Leadership & Management

Supervise, lead, and motivate professional and support staff and students
Recruit, hire, train, and mentor staff and partner sales/marketing teams
Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations
Provide coaching and support to help team members reach their full potential
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
Effectively communicate organizational goals, strategies, and expectations
Administrative & Operations

Maintain and manage digital database
Work with online accounts and systems
Manage contracts for advertising or marketing strategies
Answer written and oral inquiries
Prepare reports and recommendations
Act as spokesperson for an organization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies with organizational goals
Work Conditions:

·       Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week)

·       Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

·       In-office work at our Ottawa location

Education Requirement:

·       College diploma in Business Management or related field required (University degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience Requirement:

·       Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or business development; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Skills Requirements:

·       Experience in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies

·       Demonstrated ability in analyzing marketing needs and developing appropriate plans

·       Strong background in stakeholder relations and partnership development

·       Experience in coordinating marketing and promotional events

·       Proficiency in digital marketing and social media management

·       Excellent communication and presentation skills

·       Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Languages of work: English, French an assent.

Wages: $ 71,000 annual or $36.41 per hour

Benefits:

Sales Commission, $1000 profit sharing remuneration, $500 training budget.

Vacation: 10 days annually (0.83 days accrued per month)

Sick Leave: 5 paid days

Personal Days: 2 paid days annually

Additional unpaid sick leave available: Up to 3 days
