St. Louis Bar and Grill is a Canadian owned and operated restaurant chain of over 75 locations across Canada. St. Louis first opened its doors in Toronto in 1992 and has gained recognition for its service, signature wings & fries, and specialty sauces. Our local neighbourhood establishment in North York offers exceptionally warm, friendly service in a fun, casual sports bar and grill setting.

We are seeking a self-motivated Line Cook to assist with food operations, preparation, and cooking at our restaurant. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning food preparation and cooking activities as required in meeting customer demand. The candidate will also participate in various safety and workplace hygiene activities designed to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Job Duties:

-Prepare and cook complete meals & specialty food items, such as appetizers, burgers & wings, finger foods, salads, and other side favourites, per the existing St. Louis food menu;
-Plan cooking activities to meet customer/patron demand during normal hours and at restaurant peak times;
-Ensure meals are consistently prepared as per the company specified recipes;
-Oversee kitchen operations;
-Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers as required from time to time;
-Ensure all food items meet restaurant quality standards;
-Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and kitchen equipment;
-Prepare and cook new or seasonal menu items as required;
-Assist with keeping a clean kitchen and work area;
-Demonstrate new cooking techniques and assist in training other staff members as required.

Qualifications:

-Completion of a college certificate/program is required.
-Certification in Food Handling Safety is required.
-Must have good time management skills.
-Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
