Job Duties:
· Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, kitchen and cleaning supplies
· Evaluate daily operations
· Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
· Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
· Monitor staff performance
· Plan and organize daily operations
· Recruit staff
· Set staff work schedules
· Supervise staff
· Train staff
· Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
· Cost products and services
· Organize and maintain inventory
· Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
· Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
· Address customers’ complaints or concerns
· Provide customer service
· Supervision 5-10 people
Skills Requirements (Education and Work Experience):
Languages: English
Minimum Education: Completion of secondary school (or equivalent experience), Safe food handling certificate
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in food preparation or service, or minimum 1 year as a food service supervisor
Additional Assets: Experience in managing a food service operation that includes a sweet counter, takeout service, catering, tiffin service, juice bar, and meat section is an asset.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Overtime may be required.
Standing for extended periods.
Work under pressure.
