Overview

Syu Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Bar is seeking a Chef for our Richmond location.

 

Permanent, full-time; 30-40 hours per week; $34.62 per hour. Bonus is available based on sales performance.

Standard 6-8 hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 11:30am and 9pm as required.

 

Duties:

·      Cook everything on the menu;

·      Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness;

·      Supervise all food preparation;

·      Train and monitor the quality of work of kitchen staff;

·      Maintain inventory and order food supplies;

·      Provide training to new kitchen staff on matters of hygiene, Japanese cuisine techniques, and other matters.

 

Qualifications:

·      Minimum 1 year managing entire kitchen, hiring and leading staff;

·      Minimum 5 years of experience as a commercial cook;

·      Formal training in the culinary arts is an asset;

·      English language ability is required;

·      Japanese language ability is an asset.
