Overview

Tetsu Sushi Bar, an authentic Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Bar, located in Vancouver’s Downtown West End, is seeking a Cook to join the team.

 

Permanent, full-time; 30-40 hours per week; $18.00 per hour. Bonus available based on sales performance.

 

Standard 6-8 hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 9:00am and 11:00pm as required.

 

Duties:

·      Cook everything on the menu;

·      Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness;

·      Coordinate and oversee kitchen staff and cooks in managing the preparation of meals;

·      Ensure all meals leaving the kitchen are consistent in presentation and quality;

·      Provide training to new kitchen staff on matters of hygiene, Japanese cuisine techniques, and other matters.

 

Qualifications:

·      Secondary school completion preferred;

·      Minimum 1 year of previous experience as a professional cook;

·      English language is required;

·      Japanese language ability is an asset.
