Overview

Valerie is looking for a Home Support Worker (Live-In Caregiver) to provide in-home care to an elderly female adult.  The residence for the position is located in the community of Oakridge in Calgary, Alberta.  There is one permanent full-time position available.

Duties of the Home Support Worker (Live-In Caregiver) include:

·         Provide personal care to elderly adult;

·         Provide companionship to elderly adult;

·         Prepare and serve nutritious meals;

·         Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties;

·         Administer bedside and personal care;

·         Feed or assist in feeding;

·         Administer medications, as instructed by the medical team;

·         Assist in regular exercise, as instructed by the medical team; and

·         Assist elderly adult with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.

Skill and Education Requirements:

·         Completion of secondary school;

·         One or more years of experience;

·         First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate;

·         Criminal Record Check;

·         Valid Driver’s Licence; and

·         Ability to communicate in English both effectively and independently, and in an unsupervised setting.

The wage for the Home Support Worker (Live-In Caregiver) is $29.50/hr.  The work week is 44 hours.  Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. This is NOT a condition of employment.
