Overview
Our Grocery Department Sales Supervisor is responsible for overseeing sales in our grocery department within the larger supermarket. This person will ensure that grocery department sales are maximized through a focus on high-quality customer service, product quality control and inventory accuracy. The Grocery Department Sales Supervisor will also be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of cashiers and grocery department clerks, coordinating their schedules, and ensuring compliance with company policies. They are also involved in strategic planning and marketing efforts.

Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing sales within the grocery department within our supermarket
• Supervise and coordinate a team of grocery department staff and providing them with training and development opportunities.
• Assign grocery department staff to duties and preparation of work schedules.
• Monitoring inventory levels and ordering stock as required.
• Addressing and resolving potential issues that may arise, such as customer requests, complaints and supply shortages.
• Assessing product trends and customer requests for new products within the grocery department.
• Implementing and maintaining store policies and procedures.
• Working with the Grocery Department Manager, General Manager and Assistant General Manager, setting sales targets and goals for the grocery department and staff, and implementing measures to achieve them
• Developing marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
• Monitoring store’s financial performance and finding ways to increase profitability.
• Ensuring the store layout and displays are customer-friendly and products are easily accessible.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; Two-year diploma in management, supply chain, or related field is an asset
• Proven experience in retail sales, with supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to delegate and motivate a team.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Shift: Friday – Tuesday day shifts
Role requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Two year diploma in management, supply chain, or related field is an asset

Experience: Experience is an asset.
Wage: Dependent upon skills and experience, the range of pay will be between $28.85-$31.25 per hour
