Westlynn Bakery is seeking a Baker for our North Vancouver location.

 

Permanent, full-time; 40 hours per week; $19 per hour.

 

Standard 8 hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 8am and 4:30pm as required. Working on weekend shifts is required.

 

Duties:

·      Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders;

·      Bake mixed dough and batters;

·      Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods;

·      Work with chocolate for special baking needs;

·      Create new pastry samples for new product development;

·      Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards;

·      Operate machinery;

·      Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.

 

Requirements:

·      Secondary school completion is required;

·      Completion of a three- or four-year apprenticeship program for bakers OR completion of a college or other program for bakers OR a minimum 2 years of experience working in a commercial bakery is required;

·      English language ability is required;

·      Must be willing to work on weekends and early mornings.
