Overview

Wild Coast Daycare Ltd. (dba Ocean Rain International Daycare Center Inc.) in Victoria, B.C., is looking for three Early Childhood Educator Assistants (ECEA) to join their team.

Permanent, Full-time; $18.00-$22.00 per hour (Commensurate with level of previous experience); 35-40 hours per week. Benefits include: Annual bonus is available for based on the performance assessment, eligibility for 2 paid Pro-D days in August each year and 10% discount childcare programs, 15 days paid vacation.

Duties:

– Assisting the Development and implementation child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children;

– Leading and assisting the activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest;

– Providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity;

– Guiding and assisting children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits;

– Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor;

– Assessing the abilities, interests and needs of children and discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members;

– Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with co-workers.

Qualifications:

– Completion of Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate program which allows practice in BC is required;

– Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Certificate in B.C. is required;

– Criminal Record Check is required;

– English Language ability is required.
