Title of Position: Cross Country Ski Instructor
Job Duties: Your main responsibilities will be to plan and carry out cross country ski lessons for any age group, both classic and skate skiing. On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to assemble sports equipment, demonstrate and instruct cross country skiing techniques, instruct, guide and lead individuals and groups of up to five people, adapt to clients’ skill level, monitor activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when needed, enforce safety rules, schedule classes, maintain record and prepare reports, maintain and repair skiing equipment, groom and prepare skiing trails. To achieve this, you will be working alongside our sled dog guides. Your work will enable the business to offer a wide variety of winter outdoor activities. During the off-season there is a lot of trail and equipment maintenance to do.
Requirements and Qualifications: We are looking for a motivated and independent personality that is patient, friendly and entertaining with customers. A completed high school diploma is required. Completion of a college program in recreation/physical education or similar subjects OR extensive experience as a cross country ski instructor in both skating and classic is required. Demonstrated cross country skiing abilities are required. We are also looking for an individual that is able to organize customer bookings, communicates with the rest of the team and helps out where help is needed, shows initiative and interest in learning new things. The worker should be willing to work weekends and evenings on a flexible schedule.
A plus would be experience in handling dogs, especially sled dogs and/or experience in skijoring as you will work alongside our sled dog guides that can always use a hand during one of their tours and we would like to offer skijoring classes as well.
Terms of Employment: 2-year contract with possibility of becoming permanent position. 15 hours a week on five days a week.

Wage: $20/hour
