Wages Offered: $26.00 Hourly

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent & Indeterminate (at-least 40 hours per week)

Minimum Education Required: College level diploma or program in accounting, commerce, bookkeeping or any related field is required


Experience: One year of work experience in the field of accounting and/or bookkeeping is required

We are looking for a knowledgeable individual who is focused and driven towards accounting & bookkeeping. We are looking for a talented bookkeeper to join our team. Reporting to the Business Manager, the accounting bookkeeper will handle the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, company’s payroll, statutory remittance filings, ensuring company’s financial compliance and some financial reporting. The incumbent will also liaise with the company’s Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and provide them all required financial information, details, documents and numbers as required, the ideal candidate should have knowledge of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheets, bank reconciliation, debits and credits etc.


Job Role & Responsibilities:


– Maintain financial records for our company and work on maintaining various accounts

– Make use of computerized bookkeeping systems such as QuickBooks, must have knowledge of manual bookkeeping as well

– Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and put together financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information of our company

– Examine payments received and deposits made by different stores operated by our company and verifying, allocating, and posting transactions records

– Organize a structured method to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts and following bookkeeping policies and procedures

– Suggest new procedures for bookkeeping and organizing the accounting & bookkeeping information and records for our company

– Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls for the employees of the firm

– Prepare, complete and submit taxation forms, tax remittance forms and/or information, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other statutory documents which are required by the Government for our company

– Prepare tax returns and perform other bookkeeping services for our company and send those over to the CPA for review and filing

– Prepare relevant & meaningful statistical, financial and accounting reports for our company

– Perform any other integral accounting & bookkeeping related duties, when required


Skills Preferred:

– Comfortable operating computer systems, attention to details, problem solving skills and time management skills
