ACGI shipping Inc is actively looking to fill its Vessel Accountant/Accounting Technician (Teer 12200) position for their location in Burnaby (#201, 3480 Gilmore Way Burnaby BC V5G 4Y1) immediately.

Job Description:

Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects for portfolio companies.
Processing of employee and management of staff expense claims in accordance with regulations, policies, practices, and procedures.
Responsible for the processing and accounting of the corporate credit card transactions.
Daily review of bank transactions into the general ledger, across bank accounts and reconciliations kept up to date.
Verification of staff timesheets on a weekly basis and preparation for semi-monthly payroll processing.
Entering, revising, sorting, calculating and creating tables for analysis, account reconciliations, year-end working papers, control accounts, etc.
Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with company policy and procedures.
Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Back-up to the finance team member for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and consolidations for group reporting, while ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met.
Work with the finance team on the formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
Other related accounting and administrative duties as required or assigned by the Controller.
Job Requisites:

Undergraduate Degree – Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting Major.
Between 1-3 Years’ experience in finance and accounting.
Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding payroll is an asset.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
Exposure to payroll (ADP) is an asset.
