Overview

We are seeking 1 Executive Sushi Chef and 2 Sushi Sous Chefs at Black + Blue located at 130 King Street West, Toronto ON

EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities ensuring all meets the highest quality standards
• Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
• Assist the Exec Chef with designing menus and plating presentation
• Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
• Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Hire and train staff
• May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.

BENEFITS:
• $80,000-85,000 annual salary
• 40-44 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position
• In-depth knowledge of food principles & best practices
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to communicate in English
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Food Safe or Safe Food Handling within 2 weeks of employment

SOUS CHEF – 2 positions available
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

·         Assist the Exec Chef with designing menus and plating presentation
·         Assist Exec Chef & CDC to estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
·         Supervise activities of cooks & dishwashers
·         Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
·         Train staff
·         May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.

·         $60,000 -65,000 annual salary
·         40-45 hours per week
·         Extended Health, Dental and Life Insurance after 3 months
