Overview

The Company: Little Giants Childcare Centre, Inc.

Work Location: 50 Forest Manor Road suite Units 3-6, North York, ON M2J 0E3

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Type of Position: Full time, permanent

Positions Available: 1

Work Conditions: Day

Hours per week: 30 to 44 hours per Week

Salary: $24.50 per hour

Hours of Operation: Between 7:30am to 6pm

Benefits:

●  5 Paid sick days per year (Approx. 40 hours)*

●  10 Unpaid personal leave per calendar year (bereavement, illness, injury, medical emergency, and urgent matter)

●  4% Paid vacation days, (under 5 years of vacation entitlement, Approx. 10 days/80 hours)3

●  6% Paid vacation days, (after 5 years of vacation entitlement, Approx. 15 days/120 hours)

●  Eligible for a Provincial Wage Enhancement (PWE) up to $2/hour for the eligible program staff making less than $30.59/hour.

●  Eligible for an existing annual increase up to $1/hour for eligible RECE program staff making less than $26/hour (including PWE) as part of our service agreement in partaking in the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) Program

●  1 hour break + meal period (two 15 minutes unpaid breaks and one 30 minutes paid meal period)

*New employee: after 2 weeks of consecutive employment

Language: English

Education

●  A Certification or Diploma from the College of ECE or CEGEP.

●  In good standing with College of Early Childhood Education (CECE) Ontario Standard CPR and First Aid level C certificate

●  Standard CPR and First Aid level C certificate

●  Vulnerable Sector Check

Experience

●  2 years to less than 3 years working in the similar role

Work Setting

●  Licensed Child care center

Tasks/Responsibilities

●  Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

●  Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest

●  Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

●  Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor

●  Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members

●  Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children

●  Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

Target audience: Children ages 1 to 6 years old

Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available
