Ukrainian Bakery Corporation O/A COBS Bread is looking for 2 Bakers to join them ASAP.

Work Location: 9855 Austin Road, Suite 224, Burnaby, British Columbia V3J 1N4
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time (35 to 40 hours a week)
Wage: $18 to $22 per hour (based on experience)

Job Duties:

1. Prepare the ingredients for baking, including measuring and mixing ingredients such as flour, yeast, water, and other components to make various bread and pastry products.

2. Operate baking equipment, ovens, and other machinery to bake a variety of bread and bakery items according to the company’s recipes and quality standards.

3. Mixing, kneading, and shaping dough to make bread, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods

4. Ensure that all baked goods meet quality standards. Baker is required to monitor baking times, temperatures, and appearance to ensure that products are baked to perfection.

5. Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality and taste in all products.

6. Keep track of inventory, including ingredients and supplies, and notify management when supplies are running low to avoid shortages.

7. Arrange baked goods in the display cases to make them visually appealing for customers. This may include decorating pastries and bread.

8. May interact with customers, answer questions about the products and make recommendations.

9. Stay informed about different types of bread, pastries, and baked goods offered by COBS Bread, and being able to answer customer inquiries about these products.

10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth bakery operations.

11. Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

12. May hire, train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.

Job Requirements:

· Education: Completion of Secondary school is required

· Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in similar setting is required

· Language: Must be able to communicate in English (functional English is required)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, must be able to work under pressure, standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks and attention to detail, available to work any shift including midnight, early mornings, afternoons, and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
