1103710 BC Ltd (DBA Wok Inn Restaurant) is a local favorite located in the Rutland area of Kelowna, BC, specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine made with the freshest ingredients. We are currently seeking Head Chef to join our bustling team and ensure smooth, efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire culinary operation, ensuring the preparation of authentic, high-quality dishes while managing various kitchen responsibilities. Availability to work within restaurant hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and food ordering to ensure high-quality, fresh ingredients
  • Design, update, and adapt the menu based on seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and current Chinese culinary trends
  • Train kitchen staff on cooking techniques, ingredient preparation, and food presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen that complies with health and safety regulations
  • Work closely with owner to set pricing for menu items that balance customer value with profitability
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to minimize food waste and improve kitchen efficiency
  • Ensure the kitchen and staff follow health and sanitation standards and oversee proper food storage, preparation, and waste disposal practices

Skills & Employment requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required, and completion of culinary or other program related to hospitality, food and beverage service management is an asset.
  • Food Safety Certificate is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial cooking and at least 1 year of management experience required. Knowledge of Asian cuisine is an asset, training will be provided.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and multitasking skills.
  • Available to work daytime, evenings, and weekends as required
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
