Job Duties

 

·         Review and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to identify specifications and determine material requirements

·         Plan and mark layouts in line with building codes, using precise measuring instruments

·         Cut, shape, and assemble wood, wood substitutes, light steel, and other construction materials

·         Construct foundations, install floor joists, lay subfloors, and raise wall and roof structures

·         Install finishing components, including doors, staircases, mouldings, and related hardware

·         Carry out maintenance, repairs, and renovations of residential, commercial, and industrial wooden structures

·         Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices and other workers on site

·         When required, prepare cost estimates and project details for clients

 

 

Job Requirements

 

– Experience: Over three or four years of related trade experience OR completion of a three to four-year apprenticeship program is required.

– Education: Completion of high school

– Ability to work with others in a team environment.
