Position: Early Childhood Educator

Wage: $28.5 ($22.5 per hour + $ 6 per hour of Government Wage Enhancement)
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time
Language: English
Benefit: 4% vacation renumeration or 10 days of paid vacations
Job Duties:
– Build, maintain and promote trusting relationships with children, parents and teammates in a professional manner
– Provide nurturing, empathetic and compassionate care and guidance to all children, using ECE principies and values
– Understand, implement and maintain compliance with BC’s childcare regulations
– Deliver, and adjust as necessary for each individual child, an exciting, engaging, and developmentally appropriate curriculum
– Maintain a functional, clean, engaging and effective classroom
– Work effectively within a classroom hierarchy to deliver the best environment and learning opportunities possible
– Be a genuine, supportive, engaged, and productive team member who is open to and implements feedback and guidance
– Recommend, lead and implement continuous improvement within the role and responsibilities
Job Requirements:
Education :A two- to four-year college program in early childhood education or a bachelor’s degree in child development is required for this role.
Experience: Previous experience in a childcare is an asset.
Qualification
– Early Childhood Educator Certificate is required
– Criminal Record check is required.
– Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate is required.
