Overview

Job Duties:
– Preparing various baked goods and desserts for the restaurant and café.
– Portioning, arranging and plating food items.
– Setting up and maintaining work station with the necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment.
– Maintaining professional communication with front of the house employees to accommodate all guest requests and special dietary needs.
– Observing and testing food to ensure proper quality.
– Maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensuring that equipment is clean and in proper working condition.
– Adhering to food safety guidelines by following proper food handling, storage and sanitation practices.

Employment Requirements:
– At least one (1) year of experience as a pastry cook in a restaurant or institutional setting.
– Familiarity and appreciation of both classic and modern pastry production.
– Ability to work independently and part as a team.
– Scheduling flexibility, including the ability to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
– Ability to work efficiently, multi-task and perform well under pressure with a strong attention to quality and detail.
– Completion of secondary school.
– Satisfactory command of the English language.
– Ability to satisfy physically demanding nature of the role, including the ability to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 40lbs consistently, and frequently bend and twist.

Job Details:
– Starting at $22 per hour.
– Full-time position (40 hours per week).
