Overview

Burnaby Kawasaki Retail Ltd. is seeking a Motorcycle Mechanic to join their team in Burnaby.

 

Permanent, full-time; 40 hours per week, $37.00 per hour. Extended health benefits available.

 

Duties:

·      Review work orders and discuss work to be performed with supervisor

·      Inspect and test engine and other mechanical components using test devices to diagnose and isolate faults

·      Adjust, repair or replace mechanical or electrical system parts and components using hand tools and equipment

·      Test and adjust repaired systems for proper performance

·      Ensure work is performed in accordance with dealership and factory standards

·      Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment

·      Advise customers on work performed and general condition of equipment

·      Determine estimates of repair cost

·      Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts

·      Complete and maintain documentation of work performed

·      Road-test motorcycles to quality-check work performed

·      Keep the shop area neat, clean, and free of safety hazards

·      Comply with Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes

·      Follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately, report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor;

·      This position will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements:

·      Completion of secondary school is required;

·      Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program OR at least three years of previous work experience in motorcycle repair is required;

·      Motorcycle mechanic trade certification is an asset;

·      Red Seal endorsement is an asset;

·      English language ability is required.
