Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-time, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift

Wage: $37.50 per hour, 40 hours per week

Benefits: Extended medical, dental & disability plan (50/50 split with employer); Gratuities; Bonus may be paid; May provide periodic wage increases per industry standards and employee performance

Positions Available:   1 vacancy

Job Description: Estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items; Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory; Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers; May create new recipes; Instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food; Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, weddings and other special events; Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards; Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances; Recruit and hire staff; Train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food; Manage kitchen operations; Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations; Determine food portion sizes and costs; Schedule staff; Coordinate work activities with other departments.

Languages:  English

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Experience: 5 years or more

Work setting: Country Inn

Certificates, licenses, memberships and courses: Cook Red Seal Certificate

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods
