Overview
Colour Time Printing & Digital Imaging Ltd. is seeking a full time (37.5 hours per week) Corporate Accountant to join their operations. Colour Time Printing & Digital Imaging is a Vancouver-based commercial printing and marketing services company that provides end-to-end print production solutions for businesses, organizations, and events.
Position:
The position of Staff Accountant is an integral part of our operations team. The successful candidate will manage the company’s full accounting cycle, act as the financial liaison with suppliers and clients, and ensure compliance with tax regulations and other Canadian accounting standards. This position reports directly to executive management and will play an essential part in supporting our budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiations.
Compensation:
· Wage: $80,000/year
· Extended health and dental benefits
· Paid time off, a total of 15 days per year
Key responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management
· Perform full-cycle corporate accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
· Maintain financial records in compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
· Manage foreign currency transactions, including recording, reconciliation, and accounting for gains/losses.
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and manage month-end and year-end closing.
· Analyze financial performance, production costs, and operating margins.
Payroll Administration & Compliance
· Manage full-cycle payroll for all employees, including regular pay, commissions, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductions (CPP, EI, income tax).
· Prepare and file payroll remittances and year-end T4 slips and summaries.
· Maintain payroll records and act as the primary contact for payroll inquiries.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
· Oversee accounts payable operations, verify invoices, resolve discrepancies, and implement cost-control measures.
· Monitor accounts receivable, investigate overdue accounts, and implement collection strategies to optimize cash flow.
· Maintain internal credit control procedures and track foreign currency settlements.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
· Prepare financial and management reports, profitability analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
· Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, contract negotiations, and operational planning with financial insights.
Tax Compliance & External Reporting
· Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations, GST/HST filings, and statutory account reconciliations.
· Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors for corporate filings and audits.
Systems, Controls & Professional Responsibility
· Manage accounting and payroll systems; implement internal controls for financial and cross-border transactions.
· Drive process improvements, standardize reporting, and maintain confidentiality while exercising professional judgment.
· Lead the migration of accounting and payroll systems as necessary.
· Act as financial liaison with suppliers and clients throughout North America and Asia.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) certification or equivalent.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) ProAdvisor certification.
6-7 years of professional accounting experience.
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting independently, including cash flow management, general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, outstanding balances.
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll for salaried and hourly employees, with knowledge of Canadian payroll requirements, CPP, EI, income tax deductions, CRA remittances, and year-end T4 reporting.
Prior experience supporting international suppliers and clients, including foreign currency transactions is an asset.
Demonstrated strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and other accounting software is an asset.
Fluency in written and oral English is required.
