Position Summary

Current Scientific Corporation is seeking a Business Systems Specialist to support the planning, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of software development and business systems initiatives across the organization.

The successful candidate will work closely with software developers, project managers, department leaders, and stakeholders to identify business requirements, improve software development processes, coordinate project activities, and ensure software solutions meet operational and business objectives.

This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams by facilitating communication, analyzing requirements, improving workflows, supporting software development activities, and helping ensure successful project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business & Systems Analysis

Analyze existing business processes, workflows, and information systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements for software development initiatives.
Work with stakeholders to understand operational objectives and translate business needs into functional system requirements.
Develop and maintain process maps, workflow documentation, system specifications, and technical reports.
Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, usability, and scalability.

Software Development Coordination

Coordinate software development activities between business stakeholders and software development teams.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, prioritization, and resource coordination activities.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings, project reviews, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and status updates.
Monitor project progress and help identify risks, dependencies, and potential roadblocks.
Support implementation of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Systems Implementation & Improvement

Participate in the design, testing, implementation, and deployment of software and information systems solutions.
Coordinate user acceptance testing activities and assist in validating system functionality.
Analyze system performance and recommend enhancements to improve reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
Support continuous improvement initiatives involving software tools, business processes, and operational workflows.
Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new software applications, technologies, and business systems.

Stakeholder Communication

Act as a liaison between software developers, management, and business users.
Communicate project status, system changes, risks, requirements, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical teams.
Support change management activities related to new software systems and processes.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare business requirements documents, technical specifications, user guides, and process documentation.
Produce project status reports, system performance reports, meeting summaries, and supporting documentation.
Maintain records relating to system changes, testing activities, requirements, and project deliverables.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business Technology Management, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in business systems analysis, information systems, software project coordination, IT project management, or related technical roles.
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
Experience supporting software development, systems implementation, and process improvement initiatives.
Experience managing software or business system projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
Experience facilitating discussions between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Experience providing end-user support, system training, and change management activities.
Experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects and priorities within a dynamic technology environment.
Experience supporting enterprise software applications and business-critical systems.
Experience collaborating with vendors, consultants, and third-party technology providers.
