FIFTHFLUX NETWORKS LTD. is a family owned and operated telecommunications and security services provider in Alberta established in 2016. They are currently accepting applications for the position of TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN.
$38.00 per hour plus group insurance benefits, up to 40 hours per week, permanent, full-time. Workers will be assigned in various locations in Alberta.
Completion of college or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years related to electrician is required. Communication electrician trade certification is an asset. 2 to 3 years of work experience in the same trade is required Experience in computer and technology knowledge in telephone system, telecommunication system, equipment and machinery experience in cable outlets, coverters and splitters is an asset. . Area of specialization in telephone and installation repair, switch network installation repair, telecommunication service testing, fibre optic installation is an asset. Ability to communicate in English is required.
Job description:
Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment. Inspect trunking system. Repair cable signals. Inspect operation of telecommunication equipment. Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software. Complete and maintain test and service reports. Install electromechanical, analog and digital trunking systems, circuits and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centres. Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment. Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets. Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems. install fibre optics cable .
Driver’s validity license cheque required. Valid driver’s license in Alberta necessary. Vehicle will be supplied by the employer.
