Wage: $36.50 / Hour (Full-time, Permanent)
The Operations & Facilities Coordinator is a critical role responsible for the seamless integration of administrative management, technical facility oversight, and safety compliance at our Boston Bar tourism site. This position acts as the primary liaison between executive management and technical service providers to ensure the safe and continuous operation of specialized aerial tramway systems and farm/camp infrastructure. The qualified candidate is expected to work 40 hours per week at the business location.
Key Responsibilities
A. Technical Facility Coordination & Infrastructure Oversight
Coordinate the daily operational schedule for the Airtram system in strict accordance with CSA Z-98 safety standards.
Act as the lead technical liaison for third-party contractors (mechanics, electricians), diagnosing basic malfunctions in power and irrigation systems and overseeing repair progress to minimize operational downtime.
Develop and manage a preventative maintenance calendar for site-wide infrastructure, including water systems and climate control units.
B. Safety Compliance & Emergency Management
Serve as the primary on-site safety coordinator, leveraging advanced rescue training to maintain and audit emergency response protocols.
Maintain comprehensive facility logs, safety incident reports, and compliance documentation for annual inspections by regulatory bodies (e.g., Technical Safety BC).
Manage the procurement and inventory of specialized safety equipment and technical spare parts.
C. Administrative & Operational Logistics
Provide high-level administrative support, including preparing complex operational reports, managing vendor contracts, and handling regulatory correspondence.
Coordinate multi-departmental communications to ensure consistent guest experiences and staff safety during peak seasons.
Manage campsite and staff accommodation logistics, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Employment Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of direct experience in facility coordination or operational supervision in a tourism or specialized industrial environment is required.
- Technical Background: Proven experience in supervising Airtram or similar cable-car operations under the Z-98 Code is mandatory.
- Education: Completion of secondary school and a post-secondary diploma or certificate in business management or a related technical field.
- Certification (Essential): Must be eligible for or willing to obtain Wilderness First Responder certification within 60 days of hire.
- Competencies: Strong knowledge of technical infrastructure maintenance and the ability to coordinate complex emergency protocols.
