High Sierra Holdings Ltd. is hiring Concrete Finishers to perform jobs across Calgary and Banff, Alberta.

 

Wage: $38.00 per hour

Permanent, full-time position, 40 – 44 hours per week

Shifts: early morning, morning, days and weekends

Experience: 3 to 5 years

Language: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required

 

Qualified individuals should be able to perform concrete finishing work unsupervised.

 

Tasks:

Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials
Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
Estimate costs and materials
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

Experience with the following skills:

·       Exposed aggregate

·       Stamped concrete

·       Salt finish

 

Experience with the following materials:

·       Colours and sealers

·       Light weight concrete

·       Reinforcing membrane and protective covering

·       Hardners and exposies

·       Mastic flooring

 

 

Work site environment: dusty, noisy, outdoors. Able to lift up 23 Kg (50lbs)

 

Work setting: residential and commercial sites, renovations, repairs, construction sites, sidewalks and curbs, willing to relocate or drive to work locations in different areas

 

Tools/equipment: must have hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, steel toed boots, safety gloves

 

Transportation: own transportation

 

Working conditions: physically demanding, handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods of time, bending, crouching and kneeling, attention to detail
