Company Description:
Camouflage has been providing the Greater Vancouver Area with the latest in military apparel and
tactical gear since 1983. Our original retail store is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, British
Columbia, Canada. We’ve now expanded to 5 locations in Canada with the opening of our new
Camouflage store in Toronto!
We carry thousands of items including brand names such as Alpha Industries, Carhartt, Benchmade,
Dickies, Smith & Wesson, Umarex, Magnum, Schott, and much much more! We also carry a wide
selection of knives, swords, and BB guns in store. Our wide range of inventory cater to everyone,
whether you’re an army surplus collector, an avid airsoft player, or a law enforcement officer—we’ve got
the gear for you!
Position Summary
The Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Burnaby store, ensuring
excellent customer service, effective staff management, and achieving sales and profitability goals. The
ideal candidate will be a strong leader with retail management experience and a passion for tactical
gear, apparel, and customer engagement.
Job Description:
• Plan, direct, and evaluate daily retail operations.
• Manage staff, assign duties, and provide ongoing training and development.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to maximize sales opportunities.
• Determine merchandise and services to be sold, including pricing and credit policies.
• Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Develop and implement local marketing strategies to drive customer traffic and loyalty.
• Prepare and manage budgets, authorize expenditures, and track revenues.
• Ensure the highest standards of customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and
feedback promptly.
• Oversee staffing requirements, including recruitment, performance management, and
retention.
• Maintain store standards, merchandising displays, and compliance with company policies.

Necessary Skills/Qualifications:
• Minimum 2-3 years of management experience
• Experience in apparel, tactical gear, outdoor, or specialty retail would be an asset.
• Post-secondary education related to business or marketing
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a
team.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Solid understanding of inventory management, vendor relations, and merchandising.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Proficiency in MS Office and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Knowledge and passion for tactical gear, apparel, or outdoor/law enforcement equipment is
a strong asset.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

• Fast-paced retail environment with frequent interruptions.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and moving of merchandise up to 20–25 kg (45–55 lbs).
• Repetitive tasks, such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, or handling POS systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
