Overview

Itoko Sushi offers authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine in South Calgary, AB. Conveniently located and reasonably priced, our restaurant is a popular destination for both dine-in and take-out customers in the southern Calgary community.

We are currently seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy restaurant. Responsibilities:

·    Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient performance, including food preparation, cash handling, and customer service

·     Manage and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high-quality and efficient food production

·     Supervise staff and schedule shifts to maintain strong performance and high customer satisfaction

·     Maintain the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and food safety, always demonstrating a “guest-first” approach

·     Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations

·     Handle customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally

·     Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed

·     Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a stable supply chain

·     Collaborate with the restaurant owner to develop and implement strategies to improve overall performance

·     Assist the owner with hiring and training staff for the current location and potential new locations

·     Support the owner in preparations for the opening of a new location

Qualifications:

·      College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (1-2 year program) is required. A higher degree, or a diploma/degree in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related field, is considered an asset

·      ProServe certification preferred

·      Minimum five (5) years of proven experience in restaurant management role, with strong knowledge of food service and kitchen operations

·      Demonstrated supervisory experience, including team management, training and development, and shift scheduling

·      Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage multiple priorities effectively

·      Experience opening or setting up a new restaurant location is an asset

·      Proficiency with POS systems and cash-handling procedures

·      Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally

·      Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

·      Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
