Overview
Joey Restaurant Group is looking for a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to join our team in Vancouver BC.
This is a permanent, full-time position; 40 hours per week; $80,080 per year.

DUTIES:
– Prepare and report weekly financial results and period-end financial statements with accuracy and timeliness
– Reconcile central and unit bank accounts, ensuring consistency across entities
– Maintain and reconcile gift card accounts and related transactions
– Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and driving resolution
– Support the completion and accuracy of intercompany adjustments
– Partner with restaurant leaders to respond to financial and operational inquiries, providing clear and timely support
– Prepare and assist in the completion of year-end working papers and support corporate tax filings
– Contribute to the year-end external financial statement audit process
– Provide mentorship, guidance and training to junior team members
– Prepare and submit government remittances, including GST, PST, HST, and Excise Tax
REQUIREMENTS:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is required
– Completion of CPA designation is required; candidates actively enrolled in the CPA program and within one year of obtaining their designation will be considered
– Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance environment
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical capability
– Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and provide clear financial guidance to non-financial stakeholders
– Experience in hospitality or multi-unit operations is considered an asset
– English language ability is required
