Title of Position: Home Support Worker (In Home)

– Caring for an elderly individual with High Medical Needs

Employer: K H Koh

Location of Work: Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada

Terms: 2 Years (Full-Time minimum 30 hours a week)

Salary: $23.00 per hour

Job Duties:

•       Duties are performed in the Employer’s private residence.  Note: that this is a live-out position.

•       Provide personal care and companionship for a senior with high medical needs (colon and prostate cancer).

•       Administer bedside and personal care to clients such as aid in personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing.

•       Plan and prepare meals and special diets for client.

•       May perform routine health-related duties such as assisting in the administration of medications and collecting specimens as ordered by the urologist and oncologist.

•       May perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and shopping for groceries.

Skills and Training Required:

•       Basic First Aid

•       Caregiving Certificate including training in care for elderly and emergency response.

•       Hands on training and/or experience in caregiving

•       English proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark level 5.
