Overview

Kadtec Systems is seeking a Civil Drafter to join their team in Richmond.

 

Permanent, full-time (30+ hours a week); $36.55 per hour, including extended health benefits, dental care, vision care, and life insurance.

 

Duties:

·      Develop detailed conventional and computer assisted design (CAD) optical fibre engineering designs and drawings;

·      Draft and prepare technical documentation required for local authority permits. Ensure drawings meet local regulations and industry standards;

·      Prepare construction specifications, material estimates, project schedules and reports;

·      Read and interpret survey data, GIS information, and field notes to produce accurate construction drawings;

·      Coordinate with telecom companies, municipalities, and utility providers for existing infrastructure mapping and conflict resolution;

·      Conduct field surveys, inspections or technical investigations of topography, soils, drainage and water supply systems, road and highway systems to provide data for engineering projects.

 

Qualifications:

·      Completion of a university or college program in civil engineering technology or a related discipline is required;

·      At least two years of previous work experience in civil engineering is required;

·      Previous experience using relevant software, such as AutoCAD and ArchiCAD, is an asset.

·      English language ability is required.
