Kid’s Place Childcare Center is looking for Early Childhood Educator for their location in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

 

Job Details:

Job Title: Registered Early Childhood Educator

Positions Available: 1

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: 1085 Moyse Crescent, Nanaimo, BC V9S 2G7

Salary: $57,330 annually

Hours: 30 hours per week

 

Applicant Requirements:

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2years

Language: English

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Certification: Valid ECE Certificate issued by the BC ECE Registry

 

Job duties:

·         Develop and implement Child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

·         Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

·         Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.

·         Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress and/or concerns with parents and other staff members

·         Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral concerns and prepare reports for parents, guardians or managers

·         Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

·         Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children

·         Plan and organize activities for children
