Little Sprouts Christian Early Learning Center (LSCELC) is a warm, nurturing, and faith-based early learning environment serving young children and their families. We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to join our team full-time. The ECEA will support the Lead Educator in providing a safe, engaging, and Christ-centred learning environment for young children. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood development and eager to support children during these foundational years.
Terms: Permanent, Full-time
Hours per week: 40 hours
Wage: $24.24/hourly
Must report to a physical location, this is not a remote position. Work location is in Comox, BC.

Responsibilities/tasks: Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, maintain daycare equipment, storytelling, synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents, assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, order supplies and equipment, assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, knowledge of licensing regulations, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Early childhood educator assistant certificate or child development assistant (ECE level 1) and Emergency childcare first aid and CPR.
Requirements:
Valid ECEA certification, First Aid and CPR. Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or early learning setting (preferred at least 1 year). Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a caring, team-oriented attitude. Ability to work collaboratively with educators and families. Commitment to Christian education and modelling Christ-centred values.
