Job Title: Carpenter

Work Location: within Metro Vancouver

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time

Vacancy: 10

Hours of Work: 30~40hrs per week

Wage: $30.00-$31.00/hour

Benefit: 4% of vacation pay or 10 days of paid vacation per year

Language: English

 

l  Job Duties:

-Prepare the layout of the project using measuring tools.

-Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall; join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.

-Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squires, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.

-Build stairs, mantles, and furniture; fit and install trim items such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.

-Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.

 

l  Job Requirements:

Education: Completion of Secondary School

Experience: Over 2 years of related experience OR

Completion of a three to four-year apprenticeship program

OR

A combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses
