CONSTRUCTION CARPENTER

Employer and Location: Mansouri Enterprises Inc. is seeking one experienced full-time Carpenter to complete residential and commercial projects at various jobsites throughout the Lower Mainland.

Position and Title: Carpenter

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Position

Positions Available: 2

Education: Completion of secondary school is preferred; Journeyman/woman trade certificate preferred but not required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Bending, Crouching, Kneeling; Standing for extended periods.

Personal Suitability: Hardworking; Eager to continue developing skills; Detail oriented

Terms of Employment:

·        $36.65 per hour

·        Full-time 40 hours per week, overtime as required

·        4% vacation pay

·        Extended health benefits after 90 days

Job Duties:

·        Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

·        Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

·        Install forms and ensure quality control of formwork.

·        Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems

·        Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware

·        Maintain, repair and renovate wooden structures in residences and other establishments

·        Work with other apprentices and other construction workers

·        Communicate with Carpenter Foreman regarding any concerns, discrepancies, or alterations that may arise during construction to a building

·        Other duties as assigned

Specific Skills and Qualifications:

·        Ability to work with hand and power carpentry tools and other construction equipment

·        Ability to assess situations and identify potential hazards
